Job Description

This position will assist with sketching, reports, spreadsheets, and analysis for discussion with architects, engineers, and clients.  The person will perform FEM analysis and structural calculations for structural design of building components.  The person will also produce drawings in AutoCAD, review shop drawings for structural compliance and assist in developing jobs at all phases.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• Knowledgeable of Building Envelope and/or Facade industry
• Familiar with structural steel and aluminum design a must
• Knowledge of Florida Building Code and ASCE Standards, etc. is a must
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Good sketching skills and an ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
• Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in both manual and software-assisted calculation and analysis
• Ability to efficiently work on projects independently or as part of a team
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software
• Candidates should have experience in medium to large size projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, health
care and research facility design, residential and mixed used buildings, preferably in a consulting engineering firm
environment
